EMC has released a new family of its flagship VMAX series of storage arrays, which have huge storage capacities and are backed by the latest enterprise-grade Intel processors.

HSBC customers had problems withdrawing money from cash machines and paying by HSBC debit cards on Sunday after a hardware failure, according to the bank.

ICANN prepares to reopen gTLD applications

ICANN will reopen the application system for generic top-level domains on Tuesday, the organisation said late last week.

The body, which administers the DNS root zone, had to shut down the gTLD application system on 12 April due to a bug that made some applicants' details visible to others. It has offered refunds over the incident, which delayed the launch of new domains such as .coke.

A UK branch of Anonymous called the ATeam has claimed responsibility for taking down the website of the Department for Work and Pensions.
