The company posted on its Facebook wall on Monday to reassure owners of the tablets that it would still be issuing an update to the most recent version of Google Android as soon as possible. It had previously expected the process to begin in mid-February.
The original Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) arrived in April 2011 and was followed by the announcement of the Transformer Prime (TF201) in November 2011. Both devices offer a 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
"As for the TF201 FOTA update, we expected that at the end of last week but due to a couple of issues this has had to be pushed back. We apologise for any inconvenience and particularly getting your hopes up on Friday," Asus added.
The company began rolling out the ICS update to Transformer Primes in the US and Taiwan in January but some users reported being unable to install the new software due to a serial number error.
The company did not specify the issues that had delayed the rollout. Asus also said, on Thursday, that it would be sending out an over-the-air (OTA) firmware update to fix a random reboot issue "soon".
Google made Ice Cream Sandwich available to manufacturers in November 2011.
On Friday, HTC said that the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE would be the first of its devices to receive an update to ICS, to be followed closely by the Sensation XL.
