BBC news interactive are looking to recruit a database administrator. You値l be responsible for the support of databases, and will principally work on Oracle and SQL platforms on UNIX. You値l get involved in databases from their inception through to ongoing support and so will be required to work closely with customers as well as colleagues in a small team.
An experienced implementer of database solutions, you値l have a systematic approach to identifying faults and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. You値l need to have a thorough understanding of Oracle to 8i/9i gained from running critical systems. With the ability to describe complex technical issues to non-technical people, you値l have strong communication skills and be highly skilled at managing client-side relationships.
