Cannot connect to messenger 7.5 on my laptop

All was working just fine until I downloaded 7.5. Now I cannot connect to messenger at all on my laptop. I get a message coming up saying something like, cannot connect to messenger at this moment. It could be due to your firewall blocking. Well, it's not that for sure. I have two other computers on the network and they both connect to messenger perfectly okay. I even reformatted my computer and it still does it.
