I just tried to buy a laptop from Dell, as advertised in today's Daily Mirror (3 April 2006). I told the (Indian) sales advisor that I wanted the laptop at £299 as advertised. He told me it has no LAN card and is therefore just a typewriter and won't go on the Internet. Also it is too small and too slow. When I read the specification (from the paper) back to him, he hung up on me! I rang again and asked to speak to a supervisor, got through and explained the problem ... so he hung up on me. I'm just off to look at Staples/Comet/Currys now.
