Not so much a discussion but a plea for help

Having just upgraded to Server 2003 I have a problem - no don't groan.

We have two domains, with permissions shared for some users across the domains.

Whenever I access the permissions of a directory it takes many seconds/minutes to display the permissions.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a solution to this problem. It didn;t happen when we used server 2000. I have a feeling that it is something to do with new security Microsoft has built into Server 2003.
