Hardware Configuration for installing Quality Center

Wednesday 7 May 2008, 1:22 PM

Does anybody have an idea as to what server configuration should be selected for installing HP Quality Center & HP Performance Center. Number of users will be 5-10 and these will be located across the globe.
We have suggested Xeon 2GHZ, 8 GB RAM ECC SCSI HDD. But we need to give justification for our proposal to the client.
What technical reasoning should be given to the client to support our case.

Is there any document for this case???kindly help

I think what your actually getting at here is Specification as appose to configuration.

It looks as though Quality centre is a tool to measure quality. More information can be found here : https://h10078.www1.hp.com/cda/hpms/display/main/hpms_content.jsp?zn=bto&cp=1-11-126-17_4000_100__&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

Performance centre again looks like a tool but to monitor and measure performance easily through a GUI. More Information can be found here : https://h10078.www1.hp.com/cda/hpms/display/main/hpms_content.jsp?zn=bto&cp=1-11-126-17_4000_100__&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN

So it looks like there just tools and shouldn’t require any excessive hardware requirements above what you would already be recommending for your specific clients needs.

Obviously it depends how hard your client will be working the server, if they will hardly be taxing it you will struggle to justify 8GB of RAM and a Xeon processor.
If it is mission critical and being worked excessively there is your justification.

This my friend is the art of Consultancy
