Mobile World Congress 2012

The annual smartphone and tablet circus comes to Barcelona once again on 27 February, with plenty of agenda-setting announcements on the menu.

Quad-core devices based on Nvidia's Tegra 3 are expected to feature strongly, in a variety of bigger/thinner/faster form factors, while Microsoft will unveil the consumer preview of Windows 8 and RIM is expected to show off its Playbook OS 2.0 update. As ever, Apple will dominate proceedings simply by being the elephant in the room.
