We are a renowned market leader in the mechanical manufacturing sector and an industrial contractor within mainly oil and gas, petrochemical, food and energy, based in Elland, West Yorkshire

 

As a result of continued success and an ongoing planned programme of strategic growth, an opportunity has arisen within our Projects Division for a Projects Engineer  to join the company on a full time basis.


The candidate must have a relevant Engineering qualification, minimum HNC/HND.

Job Role:
A pro-active member of the projects team responsible for Project Engineering of high integrity process pipework assemblies and networks along with process skid- type package units

Key duties & responsibilities:

Preparation of proposals and tenders.

Administration of assigned project files.

Liaison with clients and subcontractors.

Preparation of calculations and work procedures.

Completion of purchase requisitions.

Arrange equipment dispatch and transportation.

Compilation of job close-out reports.

Compliance with customer-specified technical & commercial requirements

Creation of close out documentation including data packs

 

 

Development, production & approval of documentation

Preparation of work packs for in-house & sub-contract manufacturing, assembly & testing
Effective communication with customer, third party and internal personnel

Monitoring and reporting on project activities to Operations Management.
Continuous improvement of project engineering processes and performance

 

Candidate Profile:
Knowledge of different pipework technical specifications

Knowledge of pipework manufacturing processes/techniques and best practice

Knowledge of site surveying

Able to demonstrate technical and project success with customers and contracts up to £1m in the process, power or manufacturing sectors.

 

Essential Skills:
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and detailed customer specifications, quality control & logistics
User knowledge of 2D AutoCad
Knowledge of pipework fabrications, steel fabrication, and materials

Knowledge of different forms of contracts

Knowledge of site erection procedures

To carry out risk and method statements
Understands the principles of engineering, cost-effectiveness, lean manufacturing, niche markets, product development, features-benefits-solutions.

Computer literacy particularly with standard Microsoft software packages (project, excel, word, outlook)
Understands basic mechanical engineering calculations and principles

Additional Skills:

A proven track record in project management in either construction or process industries up to the value of 0.5m.

Experience in either bio-fuels, petro-chemical, oil/gas, building services, public sector, food and water treatment
Considerable commercial awareness.

Working knowledge of CDM
Good Health and Safety knowledge and awareness.

Hold a current CSCS card
Working knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment and principles including valves, heat exchangers pumps etc
