Business Analyst, Niche and Unique Software Co. Banking

Join my client a niche software vendor specialising in Hedge Funds and Prime Brokerage Services. The company`s main product is a full cross-product margin system, targeted at both Prime Brokers and Hedge Funds. You will be a part of the client team based in the City and also onsite with clients during the evaluation and implementation phases. Clients are based in London and US so a willingness to travel to the US (primarily New York and Chicago) is a positive. The role will involve working on both the Prime Broker and Hedge Fund versions of a unique credit trading risk system which is installed at a number of major US/EU Prime Brokers and Hedge Funds. The key responsibilities of the role are: - Working with clients to model their margin and risk methodologies using the rule and formula tools. This part of the role is a major function, possibly comprising 40-50% of the role. - Performing detailed analysis of new functional requirements with clients and internal domain experts - Documenting functional requirements and assisting QA manager in building test cases - Liaising with the development team and the domain experts to ensure implementation meets requirements - Performing business testing of enhancements to the product - Working with clients during evaluation and beta testing - Training users on the data model and XML schemas. Applicants MUST have 1-3 years commercial front or middle office Investment Banking experience with experience of using Excel for complex modelling, VBA for constructing calculation functions or similar and 2 years SQL either on Oracle SQL Server or Sybase. Experience with cross margin highly desirable but not essential. You must also be competent in creating well structured specifications and possess strong documentation skills.Strong and articulate spoken and written English communication skills are essential.
