Cheyenne Software said today that Monday's $1.2 billion purchase by Computer Associates won't mean that the company is filleted.

"Cheyenne will keep all its employees and will remain independent ", said Paul Dunford, Cheyenne vice president for northern Europe. The company will gain greatly from CA's corporate user base, Dunford said, but insisted the gains will be on both sides: "CA doesn't really have a relationship with channels as their sales force is different from ours. If anything, the merger will give CA people new outlets," he said.
