First Navio NC steps into limelight

10 Dec 1996 13:22

Pennsylvania-based HDS Network Systems said today its Network Computer (NC) will be the first to ship with Netscape's Navio Navigator browser.

HDS said it has signed an agreement to license the Navio browser, which is designed to run on thin clients but retain all the functions of the full Netscape Navigator browser. HDS will integrate it into its proprietary netOS NC operating system for use with its @workStation line of NCs, which start at £650 + VAT.

Navio will be offered as an alternative to HDS's own @workExplorer browser which currently ships with the NC range. A spokeswoman for HDS said @workStation NCs equipped with Navio are available now.

HDS Network Systems can be contacted by telephone on 01344-382164.
