Quarterdeck enters disk partition market

21 Feb 1997 11:17

Quarterdeck yesterday took the wrappers off Partition-It, its long awaited disk partitioning utility.

Based on technology it acquired with the purchase of Vertisoft last year, Partition-It (£40 incl. VAT) is a Windows 95 native implementation that lets novice users quickly create, compress, resize, move and delete hard drive partitions through hand-holding Wizard help.

"[PowerQuest] Partition Magic has done very well but it has had the field to itself so far, as FDISK is too difficult for most users," said Martin Pickering, European sales and marketing director at Quarterdeck.

A Windows NT version of Partition-It is currently in development.
