Macromedia is delaying the release of Director 6 Multimedia Studio after discovering too many bugs for comfort in the beta test version. Originally planned for this month, the product will now ship by the end of June, the firm said.
"We concluded that we would not be able to resolve all outstanding issues in time to deliver Director 6 consistent with our high quality standards by the end of the month and, therefore, decided that it would be prudent to take some additional time to ensure the quality of the product before releasing it to the marketplace," said Rob Burgess, president of Macromedia, in a prepared statement sent to press and financial analysts.
