Mesh to add 24-speed CD-ROM drives to PCs

01 May 1997 15:39

London-based direct seller Mesh Computers will be among the first wave of vendors to ship PCs with 24-speed CD-ROM drives this month, the firm has said.

Mesh believes the TEAC drive is the fastest EIDE drive on the market, delivering an access time of 103ms and maintaining a constant data transfer rate. The theoretical maximum data transfer rate of a 24-speed drive is 3,600kbps.

"We consider our main strength to be the speed with which we bring new technologies to market," said Mesh marketing manager Andrzej Bania. "Most of our machines use an advanced graphics subsystem that is already capable of supporting DVD and MPEG2."

Mesh can be contacted by telephone on 0181-452 1111.
