Plustek has released a 30-bit colour flatbed scanner for the eye-popping price of just £149 + VAT.

The Taiwanese firm's OpticPro 4830P hooks up to a parallel port and offers 300 x 600 scanning, and is bundled with Micrografx PhotoMagic 1.0 image editing and Recognita OCR software. A button on the device activates the Action Manager control software to save time.
