BETT '99 gets under way

The BETT show opened at Olympia today with ICT (information and communications technology) and the national grid for learning the burning issues of this year's show.

Organisers are expecting 25,000 visitors giving those involved in education a chance to see and touch the latest educational software, hardware and Internet products.

360 exhibitors are expected and the newly appointed minister for ICT in education, Charles Clarke, will be one of the first speakers.
