News Burst: Mobile Virgin speaks first words

Richard Branson's Virgin Group enters the telecommunications fray this week, becoming the UK's newest mobile phone provider.

Virgin Mobile, has been valued at £1.36bn by City brokers Investec Henderson Crosthwaite even before its launch.

Observers predict that while Virgin Mobile will charge customers a high initial premium to purchase handsets, call charges could be as much as 50 percent lower than rivals Vodafone, Cellnet, and One2One.
