On the night of Thursday 4th November Jeremy Smith, an executive with public relations firm Beatie Communications, was killed in a motorbike accident in Reading.

We in the UK IT industry mourn the loss of a man who brought a smile into our everyday working lives.

Jeremy, 24, was probably best known for his outstanding work with Diamond during its launch of the Rio MP3 player when he was a junior PR executive for Keene Communications. No matter what demands were made of him in his professional capacity, Jeremy always came up with results.

More than that, Jeremy was an extraordinary individual whose love of life, his fellow human, and his sheer joy at living, will make him missed by all who knew him.
