At the Demo 2000 show in California Monday, Be is to launch an operating system for the fledgling Internet appliance market.
The BeIA operating system -- formerly code-named Stinger -- will be aimed at wireless multimedia devices such as Web pads and streaming media devices.
BeIA is a modular platform based on the company's desktop operating system BeOS. It includes email, a Web browser, RealPlayer G2 video and audio, Macromedia Flash and a customisable user interface.
