Lucent said on Tuesday that it was selling its Optical Fiber Solutions business to Furukawa Electric and Corning

Furukawa will pay $2.525bn for the bulk of the business, while Corning will shell out $225m in cash for Lucent's interests in Lucent's Chinese joint ventures, Lucent Technologies Shanghai Fiber Optic and Lucent Technologies Beijing Fiber Optic Cable.
