OpenOffice.org has released an updated version of its open-source productivity package. Primary improvements in version 1.1.2 of the software include multiple bug fixes and the addition of FontOOo Autopilot, an automated tool for downloading and installing new fonts. Version 1.1.2 is available for download from the OpenOffice.org Web site.
OpenOffice, the open-source sibling of Sun Microsystems' StarOffice, includes a word processor, spreadsheet program and other workplace basics and is winning growing support from governments and other large-scale customers looking for an alternative to Microsoft Office.
