Brief: The Japanese security firm has launched three new applications aimed at stamping out spyware

Antivirus maker Trend Micro plans to launch on Monday a trio of anti-spyware products that use technology picked up in its May acquisition of InterMute. The version 3.0 update of Trend Micro Anti-Spyware comes in three editions, aimed at home users, smaller companies and enterprises respectively. All are designed to work alongside antivirus and security software from other providers, the Tokyo-based company said.

Trend Micro Anti-Spyware 3.0 for consumers will deliver faster definition updates, the company said. Available now online for customers in the US, it costs $29.95 (£16.42) and will be introduced at retailers in North America first, beginning next month. Anti-Spyware for Small and Medium Businesses 3.0 can be managed centrally using a Web-based dashboard. It goes on sale this month. Anti-Spyware Enterprise Edition 3.0 is non-integrated, Trend Micro said, meaning corporations do not have to replace their existing antivirus software. It is expected to launch in August.
