Open source ERP firm gets new boss

Brief: LaVonne Reimer has been chosen to drive Compiere towards success in enterprise resource planning

Compiere, a small company that develops open source ERP software to help customers manage finance, inventory and other business matters, has named LaVonne Reimer its chief executive officer. Compiere founder and former leader Jorg Janke now will focus on strategy as chief technology officer, the company said Monday.

LaVonne most recently established the Open Technology Business Centre not far from Compiere's headquarters. Compiere has only a handful of employees, but relies on numerous business partners that sell the software and tailor it for particular customers' needs. Compiere aids in support and shares revenue with those partners, Janke said in an interview at the Open Source Business Conference earlier this month.
