Phill Robinson is headed for CacheLogic, an online content-delivey company

Former Salesforce.com senior executive Phill Robinson has left the company to lead a web start-up.

Robinson has been with Salesforce.com since 2003 and occupied several senior positions in the exec team of the software-as-a-service CRM company, including chief marketing officer and, subsequently, chief operating officer of sales and distribution.

He will now take over as chief executive of CacheLogic, an online content-delivery company.

In his last role at Salesforce.com, Robinson was responsible for ongoing development and delivery of its sales strategy. Prior to that, as chief marketing officer, he recently dealt with the fallout after the company suffered service outages.

CacheLogic provides content network-delivery services for rich online media, such as video on demand.

At the time of writing, Salesforce.com had not responded to a request for comment.
