The security company has decided that offering shares to the public is key to its quest for expansion

Security services company Sophos is in the process of floating on the London Stock Exchange.

The company announced on Wednesday that it would offer shares to investors, seek admission of its shares to FSA listing, and seek admission to trading on the LSE.

"Becoming a listed public company is a natural next step in our development," said Sophos chief executive officer Steve Munford in a statement.

Sophos stated that its objective is "to establish itself as the leading provider of endpoint security and control solutions for enterprises worldwide".

To achieve this, Sophos intends to extend its network access control market, and invest in sales and marketing in North America. Sophos also plans to expand the business "organically and through strategic acquisitions".
