Microsoft has begun soliciting testers for OneCare Live, the company's subscription antivirus and anti-spyware service.
In an online posting seeking people to try out the service, Microsoft said that it plans to start testing this summer.
"This new service will be entering its beta testing phase in a few weeks," the company said on its OneCare Web site. A Microsoft representative was not immediately able to offer further details on the testing or say when the final service will be ready.
OneCare is set to combine the anti-spyware software that Microsoft has already been publicly testing along with antivirus and firewall software. Microsoft has not announced pricing for OneCare.
Microsoft announced its plans for the service in May. The company has been testing it among Microsoft employees since then, but has said it would begin testing it with outside customers in the summer or autumn.

Talkback
What a name!
Surely someone at Microsoft must have realised how close "OneCare" is to the Word
W*NK*R !!!
Someone, please email Bill!
I think it's a long time since anyone at M$ realised anything - it does however give us a new nickname for billy gates - Willy OneCare and the [hmmm...] factory.
Hmmm... patent factory? vanilla factory? how about just late as in chocolate.
Advertising for onecare testers - I saw a sperm bank the other day with a similar advert, apparently they only had three people who were going to turn up by public transport - but two missed the tube and one came on the bus (I thank you)
Microsoft seems to be in a sticky situation.
