Apple on Monday released a minor upgrade to its Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger operating system, which debuted in April. The new version, 10.4.3, adds a number of updates and bug fixes as well as a few new features. With 10.4.3, .Mac customers can have encrypted iChat instant-messaging conversations without having to run their own server-based software. Also, an update to Safari now allows the browser to pass the Acid2 Web standard compatibility test.
The update is available via Mac OS X's built-in Software Update utility and from Apple's Web site.
