On Wednesday, Acer launched its new range of TravelMate Centrino 2 business notebooks.
The Centrino 2 platform was formerly code-named 'Montevina'. All the laptops in Acer's new range have Intel Core 2 Duo processors and Draft-N Wi-Fi. All come with Intel's GM45 Express chipset, which provides integrated 3D graphics, as the lowest specification for graphics, although some have optional discrete graphics cards. They also all come with fingerprint readers and Acer's Video Conference Manager pack, which can be augmented by an optional VoIP Bluetooth phone that tucks away in the PC card slot.
The TravelMate 6293 is the smallest in the new range. It has a 12.1-inch screen and weighs 1.95kg with its standard six-cell battery pack. It also takes up to 2GB of DDR3 800/1033MHz RAM, upgradeable to 4GB using two soDimm modules.
