I think it is the wrong window I'm writing in but please help. I have Netscape 6.2 internet surfer which I like very much because of it's real-time... My problem is that it want to search for the site activation.netscape.com which doesn't exist any more. What should I do?
You need to edit the file:-
prefs.js
You can find this through the Windows Search - it can be in one of several places, but usually somewhere in the tree:-
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\
In this file you will find a line that reads as follows:
pref("browser.registration.enable", true);
All that you need to do is to change true to false on this line and save the file and the activation screen will never bother you again.

EXAXCTLY what I want to know!!! That's why I fire up Oper8.5a (LOVE IT!), Firefox, IE5.5, & not don't Netscape6.0. PLEASE someone heellllpppp us fix that! Thanks! tbrnet2b
Follow "The Minister Mike Miller Netscape Fix" to dis-able that pesky activation.netscape.com start-up screen in Netscape 6! Praise God! It worked for me!
1. Find the all-ns.js file on your operating system like this:
Explorer
Explorer
Exploring C:\
Tools
Find Files or Folders
type in filename all-ns.js
Click Find Now
2. Right-click on the file
3. Pick Edit
Now do the following Mike Miller Miracle & I Quote:
"In this file you will find a line that reads as follows:
pref("browser.registration.enable", true);
All that you need to do is to change true to false on this line and save the file and the activation screen will never bother you again."

Follow " Minister Mike Miller Fix" to dis-able that pesky "activation.netscape.com" start-up screen in Netscape 6! Praise God! It worked for me!

I just downloaded Netscape 6.1 on my Mac and every time I open I get the message that activation.netscape.com could not be found. I can click OK and all works fine but how can I get rid of this message when opening?
