I have been a faithful Mozilla supporter for sometime now, and have been using firefox since its introduction. Also, I have turned many folks onto firefox and all have remained faithful converts. Firefox has achieved in quality what microsoft can only dream about for Internet Explorer. The best part is, firefox is still only BETA! But, i guess its all where you have your focus. Open source doesn't give a second thought about the bottom line, so the focus remains on quality and not on pleasing the shareholders. Some things are better left to amatures, such as, software development.
In fact in a day they've already smashed their 5 day target!
The counter is only updated occaisionally but currently stands at 2814 (with me being the most generous personal donor - come on someone beat me!). The total is likely higher than this now.
A very successful campaign for the Mozilla Foundation!
Now anyone who says Firefox lacks the muscle of IE is lying.
I've been using it for a few weeks and forgot what how popups were such a pain until I went and used a friend's computer. Her IE browser was so sluggish I decided to use the computer at another time. Thanks FireFox! From Los Angeles, CA.
I installed Firefox on a friend's beleaguered Pentium II-350 PC, which used to hang for up to 2 minutes when opening a new page in IE, and the difference in speed is phenomenal. The only problem are lame web sites that check for browsers and claim anything that isn't IE isn't compatible. But there are always other web sites to use.
