Yet another "our broadband service is faster than theirs" announcement.
And in common with all the others they use the words "up to" without explaining what the "up to" is limited by.
The answer is - the length of your telephone line as measured from the exchange.
And because of this the TOUTED UPPER LIMITS are only available if you live very close to the exchange because telephone lines do not go out radially from the exchange - they follow tortuous routes.
Therefore the affluent amongst us that can afford the cost of these high speeds cannot get them because we tend to buy houses that are NOT just down the street from the telephone exchange.
