actually mate i'd rather upload my pictures from my digital camera over Wi-Fi to free space on the go than constantly check my email, oh and tagging them with gps info -- i really think Wi-Fi has more to it than just checking e-mail
I have no doubt that the method of charging is the problem. With BT Openzone, for example, I have to pay for a fixed amount of time and even if I don't use it all, I can't use the remainder at a later date. Either a cheaper rate or a "carnét" would probably resolve this.
WiFi should be FREE wherever it is installed as a big global info service, whereby you can jump online for free.
