The take-up of broadband home Internet connections is showing continued growth month-on-month as more users make the switch to ditch their dial-up.
The latest Office of National Statistics figures are for October and show that broadband penetration rose from 57.3 percent of all connections in September to 58.9 percent — a shift of more than 250,000 users, according to separate stats out yesterday from the DSL Forum.
The ONS figures reveal a 5.6 percent year-on-year growth in total Internet connections and a 60.1 percent increase in broadband connections compared to October 2004.
