This free application has saved me a bomb:
i have just received the offer of a free 8 day holiday to florida for 4 people .i should phone this number 09066337121. how much would this cost . and is it a con.
could be similar to the company (sunshine Travel) that scammed me. They did send me a holiday but their salesperson tassured me that it was free. They then debited my card £380 ! of course they told me that my details would only be used to verify my identity.I must have left my brain in a jar that day!
I have just been phoned by sunshine travel to say that I have won a holiday for 4 in spain flight and accomadation paid the return phone no. is 08006526566 when questioned the caller said they are linked to costa la club. Should I call them back
I have just recieved the same call - I was told that I have to take some ID (not credit card) to Haydock next Wednesday and I will also get £75 of vouchers for M&S. I was told there will be £49.50 admin charge per person, but other than that it was strictly no purchase necessary. For 7 "luxury" nights this is still seems pretty good.
Where's the catch? I'm definitely from the "no such thing as a free lunch" school of thought. Their word of mouth advertising thing does seem a bit dubious
Is this a scam
i rang sunshine travel back on 08006526566 - thinking it was freephone.
does anyone know if it was a freephone number, or will i be charged for a higher rate?
I have had the same experience! I had a phone call from supposedly "the manageress" of their Lakeside branch, saying that I had won a holiday for 4 people [with no strings attached] and to call 08006526566. I phoned this number, spoke to a knobhead called John and whilst he was taking my details I could hear in the background, lots of similar tossers taking down identical information!
I also got a call fram a company called Sunshine Travel escapes who told me I had won a trip. Does anyone have their email adress ?
I was called for a telephone questionnaire on 12th August 2005 about holidays. Only took about 1 minute. The woman was all friendly. A week later I was told I'd won a free holiday in Europe for 4 in a draw of all respondents. They said there was an admin charge of £49.50 per person - and I'd also won £75 worth of M & S vouchers. They invited me to ring the 0800 number as given to other respondents to Sunshine Travel.
I read the comments on this site and decided not to progress it.
Today have received phone call from Sunshine Travel. 'Emma' was all friendly and said how did I get on with the free number and how it was really busy and difficult to get through.
I said I did not want to go ahead because I read things on the web - and she hung up on me while I was speaking!
May you be judged by your actions, Sunshine.
Don't touch them - even if you have a very long barge pole! Thank you.
We jave also just been called and WON!!! They told me it was their way of advertising blah blah and I have to go on Wednesday to pick up my vouchers and holiday at 15.00 got all the same info as everyone else 7 days for 4 people!! does anybody know what happens when you get there!!! No going would be nice to know though?
I was called for a telephone questionnaire on 18th August 2005. The call took about 1 minute. The woman was all friendly. A week later I was told I'd won a free holiday in Spain for 6 in an apartment or villa. They said there was an admin charge of £49.50 per person - and I'd also won £75 worth of M & S vouchers. They invited me to ring the 0800 number as given to other respondents to Sunshine Travel.
I called the number from work today and was told to go along to Larkside on the 1st Sept to collect my vouchers. After reading the comments posted on this site and will not be going now.
As they say in life you do not get anything for free.
Don't call them .....BEWARE
i have been trying to get a refund off tis company for nearly four months now still not recived one but the phone number was free
I've just had the same. I 'won' this luxury holiday 3 weeks ago but didnt claim it because I thought it was a scam. They have just contacted me again to ask why I didnt ring the 0800 (which is freephone) They have asked me to go to Haydock to collect the holiday and receive the high street vouchers. The lady I spoke to also stressed the 'no purchase necessary line'.
Has anyone actually been on one of these free holidays?
what a rip-off this company are I fell into trap of these charaltans taking best part of £600.00 from my debit card in June '05 was told to return documents within 30 days for full refund as you can imagine I am still waiting.Has anyone actualy received their money or taken a holiday with this company?
Sunshine Travel are now targeting Ireland! I have just recived a call from them suggesting I go on the internet - I did while they were on the line and when I told them I would neither give my credit card details over the phone and that I could not access their web site they hung up - rapidly!!!
08006526566 this number belongs to sunshine travel. it is a free phone number, and there is a catch. the catch is it is time share. the caller will tell you that you have won a prize for four people in luxury S/C accomadation and all flights are included all you need to pay is £49.50 per person, and to show it is not a scam they say they will send out a letter of confirmation. Once you agree to this the company then state that they need an appointment time for you. I queried this and after much deliberation the caller stated that it was to attend an exhibition. She then confirmed it is timeshare. but she still stated there is no catch..... NO THANKS.... NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH OR HOLIDAY FOR THAT MATTER...... STEER CLEAR UNLESS TIME SHARE IS YOUR THING
Just had a call from "Sunshine Travel" regarding a quick questionare then got a call saying I had won a holiday for 4 in the Balerics plus if M&S vouchers if I attend a meeting at there Lakeside branch. Will not be attending after reading the comments on this site and will tell them to bugger off ! If they call again and suggest everyone else does the same if they get a call from the messers.
I too have had this phone call(sunshine travel),thought it sounded to good to be true.Which is why I checked the net for info. Thanks to everyone who has posted you have saved me a heap of time.
The email address for Sunshine Travel Escapes is www.unlimitedtravelinc.com. This sounds too good to be true.

An hour ago I too get a call from Sunshine Travel. They claimed they were making a follow up call after I had answered a few market research questions over the phone last week. I remember answering a few questions but can't remember the name of the research company. ST said my name was one of the first to be drawn out of a hat this morning and that I had won a 7 day holiday for 4 that I could take any time within the next 18 months. Where to I didn't find out. They asked me to claim my holiday by calling 'freephone' number 0800 652 65 66 within an hour in order to win £75 worth of gift vouchers (M&S, Argos). I was suspicious so I googled Sunshine Travel and found this site. Lucky.
Like Victoria and Sarah I have been robbed of £380. I have sent back the folder although it was past their 30 day refund limit. Basically they took the payment at the end of May, I found out around 6 June and spent two weeks trying to contact them. They then replied the day before the 30 day limit...this limit was on the website as nothing was mentioned in the original telephone conversation.
They won't return my calls.
My credit card company keeps telling me to get a refund. Has anyone had any help from their credit card company?
GJ
HI GJ,
WE GOT SHAFTED FOR £694!!! SAME STORY AS YOU. MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY (CAPITOL ONE) SAY THEY CAN'T HELP COS THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF ABUSE ON THE ACCOUNT!!!!!!!! AM GONNA HAVE TO GIVE THIS ONE UP AND TAKE THE HIOT BY THE SOUNDS OF IT. MIND YOU, IF I'M EVER IN FLORIDA AND FIND MYSELF IN POSSESION OF A FIREARM . . . . .
TU
You can get your money back if you get in touch wtih Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Division of Consumer, Rhodes Building, Tallahassee, Florida. My visa company have been very helpful and have just informed me that one of their other customers has just had a full refund by writing to the above authority. If everyone bombards them with letters and emails we might all be successful in getting their help. I am very hopeful of getting my 914.00 euros back and my visa company are aswell!!
Just had the same call as many of you, Sunshine Travel in Thurrock. Apparently I to have won a paid for trip to Spain for 4, just phone 0800 652 6566. The chap told me that it is a freephone number, and that the scam, sorry, campaign is endorsed by Gloria Honeyford. I'm sure she will be pleased to hear all about it.
My wife completed a questionairre whilst out shopping, a week later she received a telephone call informing her that she had won a sunterra luxury holiday worth £795.00. One week in luxurious self catering accommodation in europe. This includes flight for two. The woman my wife said is very friendly my wife believes her, and I am being badgered by my wife to go to a presentation next week in a hotel. "Even if we do not sign up for the holiday we will get a free gift " she says. I am sceptical. The company is 'Global Vacations & Cruises the trading name for Cruise Travel Ltd. Is this genuine?
I have had the exact same thing today 17/10/05, won a holiday 7 nights free if phone the number 0800 6526566 (which is supposedly free - I doubt it!) Its the same company & they gave me a web site address of www.clcexhibitions.com (which is under construction. I thought I read that Sunshine had gone bust?
still trying to sort this one out for my mother who has been ripped off by this 'company!!' took 600.00 from her debit card for florida holiday, received info which was returned immediatelty as not required, numerous emails and phone calls attempted no reply and no refund, this has been going on since march 05.DONT TOUCH THESE WITH A BARGE POLE!!! SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!
I was called this morning by this bunch of scumbags ! I took the initial call to be standard market research and then was surprised to get the call today, although I really shouldn't have been. I told the girl that you don't get something for nothing in this world and asked her what the catch was. She said no catch. I then asked her for a number so I could verify who ST were and she said the 0800 number was their number but I had to call back if I wanted to ask any questions about the holiday. What a crock !! Immediately googled ST to find this site with all your complaints. I now add mine. These people really are the lowest of the low !
This morning I too received a call to say that although I'd not won the top prize I had won an all paid holiday for 4, to be taken within 18 months and to call the number everyone's referencing. I happened to ask for CLC's web address and accessed this site. I've read everyone's comments and shall NOT be making that call. I just hope that they don't pester me!
With all these stories can nothing be done to stop them? I feel for those who've lost money. I'm an at home wife and cannot afford to lose a single penny.

Such a load of Bulls*ite! Just spent the last 35 minutes tallking to some guy called Chris from Fun Time Getaways AKA Sunshine Travel! They want 898 euro for a FREE holiday!!!!!
i can tell u now these holidays are not a con so i dont know what u on about. the number is free hense its an 0800 number like any other 0800 number it is free. yes you have to pay £49.50 per person but this a legal requirment that you have to pay whenever you book tickets for an airport. its not a rip off so it is worth taking the holiday you just all get the wrong end of the stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got a call and never did anything with it. Now today I get a second call asking why I hadn't done anything about it. I wonder if I will get a 3rd call!!
I have had the 0800 652 6566 call and I am due to attend a presentation at Lakeside tomorrow. Having read all these posts, it seems to me that allthe people who were ripped off have been offered Florida hols, which the Lakeside people don't mention. No-one seems to have been ripped off by the people who offer you Tenerriffe or Cost del Sol. A colleague at work took a holiday from either the Lakeside (Thurrock) operation or the Regent Street one and said it was O.K. So I think (hope) there are at least two different firms. Let the buyer beware, but they are not both dishonest! The Lakeside operation don't talk about surveys, don't say you have won anything, and are upfront about the £49.99 fee. I will post my experiences.
Further to my last post, I take it back.
See the gen on Club la Costa at Lakeside on

I had a call from Value mail yesterday, I do online surveys for them and entered a competition a couple of weeks ago. The draw actually took place yesterday they said and I hadn't won the first prize of a holiday in the caribbean but the 2nd prize of a 7 night stay in either Tenerife or Costa Del Sol. It would be in a 5 star Self Catering hotel for 4 people.
I was very dubious and asked what the catch was straight away!! She said there wasn't one and I needed to ring a freephone number to claim my prize & quote my ref no.
So when I got home I rang the freephone number & they answered as Sunshine Travel in based in Burton. She stated the same as all the other have stated on the site, free holiday for 4 people etc, but i said whats the catch? She no catch, but need to pay £49.50 per person for admin charge.
She got me to make an appointment for next weds 30th Nov & we will received all our documents then and £25.00 in Debenhams vouchers too... All too good to be true!!!
So definately dubious so I got my fiance to check out Sunshine Travel & it led him to this website!!!!
Can anyone tell me what happens when u attend these meetings with them?
Obviously I won't be attending and sure I will get a call from them to try & persuade me otherwise... Luckily I am not that gullible!!!
BEWARE!!!!
Contacted by 'Sunshine Travel' claiming that I was one of a lucky 100 people to have one a 7 day holiday - FREE.
THIS IS A SCAM. Don't even go there!!!
I was one of the "lucky" winners who was stupid enough to give them my bank details. Lucky for me, I called them up and asked for a refund, which they did. I'm quite relieved,
we bought a florida and cruise hol from ebay for 2 weeks from sunshine holiday escapes and had a call from a Christine , She has asked for further money from the cruise which we have declined to pay but she does have our full passport details . Has anyone else had this problem and have they done anything using passport info ? ps Christine is very difficult to get hold of now we are handing no further money over !
I am supposedly one of the lucky winners of a trip for four to costa del sol or tenerife. I sais I would go to the meeting but then having looked at all these messages decided not to go, they have been bothering me for four weeks now on the phone, he asked my girlfriend if she was an "idiot" because who would not want a free holiday? I am taking this to Watchdog and urge you all to do the same
Please contact Watchdog about this company, they are scam merchants and need shutting down.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/contact/
I today rcd a phone call from someone claiming to be from mutual points.
They stated that My partner had won a holiday in one of their competitions. Upon which she was given a Freephone number ie 0800 652 6566 and a reference to quote .
My partner then rang the number and were asked to attend Burton on trent office to finalise details and choose our destination.
We were also to bring with us some form of ID.
I cannot begin to understand how someone can be as devious and low as to claim they are from another company and to lie thru their back teeth
Even when asked if it is was totally free they said yes it was an all expenses paid 7 day trip to either tennerife ort costa del sol for upto 4 people.
They stabbed themselves in the foot saying its free as I had the email from them which fully states there is a charge.......
and I quote........
" There is a £49.50 processing fee per person and Airport Passenger Duty/Security of £29.00 per person."
CLC or should be reported to watchdog and closed down for good!!
You can add me to the idiot list for falling into their scam. I'm out of $546.00. I have just filed a complaint with the BBB of central Florida.
Good luck everyone.
I recieved a call from a lady asking if i entered a survey and she told me i had won a free holiday and 2 ring the 0800 number that they gave me, I rang it but as the bloke on the phone was giving me details i told him i would ring back after i had discussed what he had told me with my partner, Thankfully i did not give him any personal detaills and i checked up on the net and found these comments. Thank you all for saving me hundreds of £££'s!
hi,
my husband and i have also had the same call and we have booked to attend a meeting next week,
has anyone actually gone on this so call holidays,
if so what was the experiance like.
Hey you bunch of paranoid people, i work for sunshine travels and its not a scam, the holiday is infact free, the only charge is a
£49.50 booking and admin fee per person, which basically covers the admin charges of sunshine travel.
the idea abehind the free holiday is that sunshine travel hope you will book a holiday with us again paying the usual price for the holdiday, we also count on word of mouth reccomendations from your good experiance with us as a form of advertising
Can't believe this is still going on - I've just received a call offering the same, telling me to ring 08006526566 and quote SRJB928.
For info today is Tue 24th January 2006 and I'm in Staffordshire in the UK.
We got a call earlier today saying that if we called 0800 6526566 we would get the free holiday blah blah blah. However greed won over common sense and I called the number, but hung up as I was waiting for ages without it being answered.
The company name that was given though was GREEN something. Found nothing about them on the net so did a search on the number and ended up here.
Very pleased that I did aswell!
Just received the same call as all of the others. I will be sending the paperwork back to them as return to sender, they may have to pay the postage.(hopefully) Won't be going to the presentation of course.
