Mobile advertising company Quattro Wireless said on Tuesday that it has been acquired by Apple.
The acquisition was confirmed in a blog post by Quattro chief executive Andy Miller, whose new title is vice president of mobile advertising for Apple. A price was not disclosed.
The announcement comes as Apple increasingly finds itself going head-to-head with Google in new developments in the mobile market. Google just unveiled its Nexus One smartphone and, in November, announced its $750m acquisition of AdMob, a Quattro competitor. Government regulatory bodies, however, may slow down that purchase.
