There's no doubt about it: Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) is a major upgrade of the Windows operating system. For one thing, it recompiles several Windows system files, making them more resilient to Internet worms and viruses by thwarting buffer overflow attacks.
SP2 also enables the new Windows Firewall and a new Security Center component to manage updates to your firewall, antivirus program and Windows itself; blocks pop-up Web advertising and Active X downloads within Internet Explorer; blocks spam-related graphics within Outlook Express; and improves wireless connections with Windows.
That's a big update. That's why we've created this resource centre -- to help you make the transition.
