On Wednesday, 8 November 2006, Microsoft released its new operating system, Windows Vista, to hardware manufacturers, marking the end of the development phase and the beginning of the distribution phase. For more than a year, we have seen various builds, most of them private but some public, with ever-increasing build numbers. Although we received a build that is technically a pre-RTM build, all of the markings, both internal and external, say Windows Vista RTM build 6000 and reflect all the final fit-and-finish enhancements expected in a final software release.

Talkback
Once I received from MS a copy of Vista RC1, I've installed it on a spare system with a P4 at 1.7 Ghz and 1 GB of RAM. At the same time I installed office 2007 and to the date havo only run in to minor problems, one can expect in a RC1.
For me it does promise to be THE NEW OS!
Also the new look and feel of office is great.
Good work MS!
