Talkback My Inspiron 1100 basically became worthless with SP2. Like tying a bowling ball to a turtle. Web pages went from 5 seconds to load to 5 minutes plus. Rolled back with system restore and it's back to normal.

Talkback I don't have an Inspiron. I built my machine myself. When I first installed SP2 everything appeared to be ok. That is until I trired to do some DVD authoriing. Then I noticed it now took twice as long to create a DVD.

Talkback My Inspiron 1150 also slowed down to a crawl after installing the SP 2 patch. The solution I used was sent in to ZDNet by Inspiron tech Matt Loney. Slowdown Fixed! Check it out) Just a few mouse clicks and your free of grief.

Talkback While, it is terribly unfortunate that there are bugs, it is a calculated risk. Anyone who expects change with zero turbulance is nieve, and irrational. Dell's response by it's techy's is obviously company policy driven.

Talkback THERE IS NO PROBLEM HERE. SP2 MAKES SOME ENHANCEMENTS TO THE INTEL SPEEDSTEP. THIS IS WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE INTEL SPEEDSTEP LOWERS THE SPEED OF THE PROCESSOR TO LOWER THE POWER STATE OF THE PORTABLE SYSTEM TO SAVE BATTERY POWER.

Talkback I have had a couple of customers who downloaded SP2 as automatic downloads and after booting back uo computers would just keep booting up in a constant cycle. I personally advise not to download unless you have your hard drive backed up.
