Psion toughens up PDAs

Talkback Why on earth did Palm choose to go down the Windows road? Clunky, difficult to program for and based upon Microsoft's solid reputation for, well, it has to be said, unstable, unsecure operating systems.

PCs, mobiles and PDAs need 'online' TV licence

Talkback I don't feel this statement from the TVL really clears up the confusion properly. It would be helpful if they could make some sort of more public announcement which clarifies the position according to the current legislation.

Bluetooth shatters milestone as new standard debuts

Talkback I really wish I knew what these one million Bluetooth devices a week were.the only high profile BT devices I know of are Apple computers, a couple of PDAs and cell phones and a bunch of USB, CF and SD adapters - few of which you can actually buy...

Nokia E61i

Nokia E61i image Member Review As a work phone, the features are much better than previous smartphones and PDAs I have had. It is certainly wider than most phones, but significantly thinner than most PDAs. Having actively used my E61i for about 15 months, I am pleased to report...

Handspring Treo 600

Handspring Treo 600 image Member Review If any PDAs are to come with a camera, at least come with 1.3Mpixels and VGA CMOS engine. Try scanning around with UX50s and compare that to O2 XDA IIs or any PDAs not from Sony, and you'll know the difference -- UX50 is only 0.3mp but performs...

The way forward: Mobile health in Kenya

Rupert Goodwins' Diary

Blog What will they do when PDAs get good enough to run MP3 software? Ban PDAs? Uh-oh. Lotus Notes is about to sprout RealAudio streaming video and audio. Which means that when I email the office saying "I've got the lurgy, I'm dying here, I'm working...

i-mate JAM

i-mate JAM image Member Review I have had many PDAs for many years (from early Ericsson Windows CE devices, Palm V, Sony P800, XDA2s and now to this great JAM). This is definitely the best. The Palm V had great hardware but a poor screen and weak OS.

Transparent fingers of fun

Blog Neat idea: make PDAs transparent so you can put the touch screen on the back side, and still see where your fingers are to select stuff. That leaves the front side able to display everything, means you can hold the device and still use all your...

Handspring Treo 600

Handspring Treo 600 image Member Review Having owned a serious number of phones and PDAs (including previous Treos), I can say that this is the best smartphone on the market by far. Form factor and usabilty really differentiate it, and the keyboard is a lot better than other text entry...

O2 xda II

O2 xda II image Member Review I would look enviously though at those PDAs with better screen quality. I had the original xda and thought that was pretty good, anyway. The xda II addresses that, and adds nearly every feature you could want bar Wi-Fi -- and you will be able to...

The enterprise must give up the PDA

Talkback Phones with those pathetic screens will never be particularly useful to technical people (primarily the buyers of PDAs). what nonsense. A VGA clie with a HDD and more battery life is a very useful tool particularly to remote desktop to one's machines.
