Talkback Just a couple of points. You said "use your spellcheck" Unfortunately spellcheckers only tell you the garbage you have written is spelt correctly. What about the sign that says "this door is alarmed" - since when do doors have feelings?

Again it all depends who you speak to.

Talkback I suggest a period in purgatory (or BBC4) for those who presuppose their education is the be all and end all of the rules on grammar. Grammar is a very moveable feast and my bottom line is that the sentence should make sense to the reader.
