Great notebook for just 1700 euro
Member Review Seems to me that this is the best notebook you can buy for this money with all the features it has. I'm using it in my wireless network and it works great. I needed the (Dutch) helpdesk once till now.

bang for buck
Member Review I opted for 512MB RAM (2x256) and I'll replace one of the 256 with a 512 from newegg or mwave. Recommend clean install of WinXP Pro, plus your own software packages as software that it comes with is somewhat lacking.

Great graphics machine
Member Review I use the machine for Scientific Visualization Software Development on Linux and MS Windows -- am not a gamer or DVD watcher, although there is some overlap in feature requirements. Bad Needs more Linux Support from DELL and Nvidia.

Poor build quality and after-sales service
Member Review The left-hand side of the keyboard is clunky. The computer has been shipped with a known fault and the after-sales service for problem solving is abysmal.

Best deal available for the price
Member Review I bought this after a long time comparing products. I bought from Dell outlet in the week before Xmas, and it still arrived before xmas. Got £1600 machine for £1032 from Dell outlet - 1GB RAM,80GB HD, DVD+/-RW,128MB graphics, which is much better...

motherboard dies after 18 months of light use
Member Review This laptop has a history of motherboard failure. I'm surprised Dell has not been sued for selling such a faulty product.

Design flaw!
Member Review Because of the design flaw (that DELL won't admit to) the poor machine OVER HEATS then turn's OFF without warning! This will in the end destroy software, ardware, and BIOS. DON'T BUY ONE LIKE I DID. Cutomer services are VERY POOR.

Dell has the worst support & overheating problem
Member Review After being sent a faulty machine and ringing them for over a month I finally got it! Then after a couple of months I experienced the "shutdown" problem -- very irritating and I'm in constant fear of losing work!

Great screen but runs very hot and had many other problems with mine
Member Review Problems: standby does not work; poor keyboard; can reach temparatures of 75 degrees C (I had to buy a device to sit under the unit to help keep a good airflow); Dell support is based in India, had a really frustrating time trying to explain the...
