---------------------------------------------------------
iDJ iPod Party
DATE: saturday 27th november 2004
LOCATION: GEM museum The Hague, The Netherlands
OPEN: 21.00 - 01.30 u.
HOSTESS: Bridget Maasland (BNN)
POWER: LJS Apple Centre
- iDJ iPOD PARTY -
The first iPod funparty in The Netherlands.
The party is based on a concept of the founders of the iPod Party,
the American duo Andrew Andrew DJ (www.andrewandrew.org)
from New York and the guys from noWax (www.nowax.co.uk)
'Power to the people' is finally a fact thanks to the iPod, the most
sexy mp3-player from Apple. This from origin non-social device
brings democracy at parties and in clubs and break with the rules
from the 'standard' DJ and takes over the turntable to make new
things possible.
According to this -no party without a famous DJ- looks like an old-
fashioned saying by an organizer of an unimaginative party, from
the late past century.
- SHARE YOUR TUNES -
The partie anticipate on a new need, where fun, excitment and
sharing your tunes and toughts plays the leading role. The people
that are interested are in the age from 20-40 who have a connection
with art, design, creativity, lifestyle and music, formerly also known
as mac-users and for launching the Dutch version of the iPod Party
is chosen for the GEM museum for contemporary art, a special place
where all this passion comes together.
- BE YOUR OWN DJ! -
Our format is different. The iDJ's are the persons with an iPod, or any
other mp3 jukebox who registar by email. They have to name the genre
that they will play on the night, to order a T-shirt with a personal number,
this is also the number for their turn on the turntable.
The iDJ's plug their own iPod into the 2000 Watt mix-set, operated by
the iHost and can play, always together with the next iDJ, 3 times about
3.30 min. per song. This will end up in a possible playlist of a total
unknown song, or a self composed number, mixed with a oldie from
20 years ago or a hit from the present.
This can bring harmonie or battle between 2 total strangers.
- BATTLE! -
Bridget Maasland famous from the Dutch television will play the iHostess.
She takes care that the iDJ's will turn up on time and will encourage them
to play their tunes, because the excitment rise when it's your play.
The audience is the judge for the evening. You can vote for the best iDJ and
someone is counting how many people the iDJ can bring to the dansfloor.
Live percussion, saxophone and special dansers will show when you play
the right tunes. The 2 best iDJ's will end the night in battle and the one who
will take the people total lose wins the new iPod mini!
- BE MY GUEST OR iDJ! -
