Story: MSN Messenger outage enters sixth day

I agree with the other MSN cyber captives, the lack of information relating to this issue is unacceptable. This is no less restrictive or destructive than a virus or worm for those of us who rely on the services supported by MSN. We are dead in the water!
There is no information available on any Microsoft site to explain why a service that has been so reliable has basically just disappeared. They give the impression that all is well, business as usual.
Why havent the major networks been doing the breaking news stuff like they did with worm and virus threats?
News is news guys!
Is it something more than they want the public to know?
It appears that something other than a simple server outage is going on.

While full medical records may be of (dubious) value at rear/base medical facilities, these could be provided much simpler by either physical disk or electronic transfer to an "in theatre" database for individuals posted in. That £80m (and it's associated running costs) could have been far better employed in resuscitating a disbanded infantry battalion or providing a big boost in equipment quality and quantity.
