I've been using it on XP for a year, and it's a lifesaver. If you try to search your whole hard drive, it may take a VERY long time to run because it builds an index of all the files first. I use it all the time, but generally when I'm trying to find occurrences of a text string in a file or group of files, so I always give it a subdirectory to search. Sometimes I give it a directory containing numerous subdirectories which contain a large number of subdirectories themselves, and it can search through all of them in a matter of minutes at the most. If you don't like how it doesn't search your whole hard drive as well as Windows XP does, keep in mind that XP's search sucks when it comes to looking for information in files, and sometimes it doesn't even find filenames that I know exist!!! So, use whichever one you need for the job, but know that WinGrep rocks!
