Story: The MCSE Blues
I have 16 years experience providing server support and setting up networks from scratch. Why does some little jerk in HR think that MCSE is be all and end all in computing.
When will companies wake up to the fact that MS certification sould only be ONE tool in the box not concidered the whole kit. Most server problems out there are generated by MS, but they are not always the best port of call to solve them. Many 3rd party solutions work far better and are cheaper than MS versions.
Only experience will enable an engineer to find the most appropriate solutions to problems. Any "qualification" that can be gained in 10 days boot camp is hardly going to inspire confidence in it. Even GCSEs are more demanding!
