I agree. The consumer should at least get a choice. I have a Canon printer and I have purchased ink from places like Staples and payed for the OEM ink, but I have also purchased ink online. The last ink I bought was from http://www.inkreplacement.com/InkCartridges and I found that it works just as good as the OEM ink. So I appreciate having a choice.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
