The idea that we should wait for 816 is patent nonsense.

We at A-Antenna Ltd have omni-directional 802.11 antenna systems with gain over 16dBi with a lobe up to 24dBi.

With our systems, 802.11 range is not an issue and a fully redundant multi-channel base station can easily be constructed using standard access points for less than £5,000 and extended range 802.11 client adaptors for fixed installation at sub £250

At these prices there is absolutely no point in spending vast amounts on 816 unless it allows large bandwidth backhaul, which it patently does not.
