Story: Changing the product key on Windows XP

Maybe I am the dumbest person in the world but I have no idea what is this new product key. In the figure B, the only key is the one we are supposed to give by the phone. Should I retype this exact same key as seen in step 3?.

Man, do I feel dumb today.
