Story: A third of Net users hacked or infected

Is Edelman really basing their estimate on interviews with only 1,000 people? The Net has over 500,000,000 people on it. Did they actually base their estimate on .000002 (two hundred thousandths of 1 percent) ?.
Making it appear that 1 in 3 Internet users has been hacked is not only ludicrous, it is poor judgement to make such an unfounded statement that would undermine public confidence, (not to mention scaring the hell out of a lot of children.)
I do hope a trusted name such as CNET will review their policies on posting such unreliable information.
